Welcome to InKing Royalty’s April Blog Hop! This year, our blog hops are themed around some of our favorite songs. Today’s hop pulls inspiration from B.B. King’s song “Let the Good Times Roll,” a blues classic that always reminds me of my father who introduced me to the blues and B.B. King.
For the hop, we’ve created projects that either feature images with wheels (cars, wagons, bikes) or celebrate good times. We are excited to share our projects with you. After you read my post, I hope you’ll hop over to the next person on the list at the base of this post.
Not only does my project have wheels, it also celebrates good times. What could be more fun than a colorful caravan of mini RVs? I’ve always had a love for these little metal bubbles that, while small, represent the freedom of exploring our big, beautiful country. They make me smile.
For this project, I used the Glamper Greetings photopolymer stamp set, a set I coveted for a year before buying it.
I stamped and cut out five RVs and colored them using an Aqua Painter and Classic Ink Pads in an assortment of colors. I love the vintage look that watercoloring — even imperfectly done — gives these campers, kind of the way they would look from being out in the sun after many years of adventures.
The Pick A Pattern DSP just seems to go with these cute campers, so I made simple banner flags from several of the patterns. I decorated some flags with buttons from the Classy Designer Buttons (now on clearance) and others with tassels and mini clothespins from the Sweet Soiree Embellishment Kit.
I also added little hearts in different colors in the large window of each camper, because LOVE. And, I put a Glimmer Enamel Dots in the center of each wheel for a little more dimension.
Then, I punched holes in the flags and campers and strung everything onto two different colors of baker’s twine, adhering each cutout to the twine with a Mini Glue Dot to keep it in place.
This is a fun way to use up extra die cuts, ribbon or embellishments and I had a BLAST making it!
Thank you for stopping by today. I hope you’ll hop along to the next stop on the blog hop, Deb Cazzone at Grand Central Stamping. There’s lots of inspiration to be found in this group — and you don’t want to miss it!
