‘Love is in the air’ InKing Royal Blog Hop

Welcome to InKing Royalty’s January Blog Hop – our first hop of 2017!

Today’s hop is filled with inspiring projects that feature each artist’s take on “Love is in the Air.” This is the best time of year to start planning your Valentine’s Day projects. There are amazing, new products in Stampin’ Up!’s Occasions Catalog and NOW is the best time to get them. We are excited to share our projects with you and hope they inspire you!

After you read my post, I hope you’ll hop over to the next person on the list at the base of this post.

You know that Sinead O’Connor song that goes, “It’s been seven hours and fifteen days…?”

Well, that’s about how long it took me to make this card, what with all the microscopic pieces that kept getting lost or mangled. That being said, I don’t recommend CASEing this project for just anyone. Here are a few people who might deserve it:

  • The person who gave you a kidney.
  • Anyone who surprises you by paying off your mortgage.
  • The friend who for years has kept THAT SECRET about you and you want to keep it that way.
  • Your mother/ your upline/Oprah.

To make this card, I cut out the larger Detailed Floral Thinlits Die in Flirty Flamingo, Peekaboo Peach, Whisper White, Daffodil Delight and Wild Wasabi card stock. I then pieced everything into the Whisper White frame.

For the sentiment, I used the Suite Sentiments stamp set that can be found in the Occasions catalog.

This card isn’t perfect– there are a lot of rough spots if you look up close — but it was truly a labor of love for a dear friend who will think it’s fabulous.

Thank you for stopping by today. I hope you’ll hop along to the next stop on the blog hop, Karen Browning at StampWithMeKZB. There’s lots of inspiration to be found in this group and you don’t want to miss it!

Happy stamping,

Denise

  1. Oh wow, Denise, this is just fabulous! I love the colors that you chose and your stained glass technique looks spot on (I notice no rough spots, what are you talking about). Your friend is absolutely going to love it!

I wrote a post awhile back that might help make the stained glass technique easier and faster next time you try it. It works really well for intricate dies like the Detailed Floral Thinlit Dies. Check it out here: http://stampwitch.blog/easy-stained-glass-technique-for-intricate-dies/
